A Passionate Costume Designer
Yujia Zhang: Learn All About Me
I started my undergraduate design study at the Beijing Dance Academy in China. I worked with Costume Designer Chunqihan and participated in the design projects of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the design projects of the 2013 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. I participated and helped design large and small theater costume design in China as well. I came to the United States in 2014 to work on my MFA at Carnegie Mellon University. Here I met my good friend and mentor Susan Tsu. I am passionate about drama, film and fashion design, and have very professional painting techniques. I actively expand my skills, not only in how to design and paint, but also focus on additional skills. For example, I have experience in fabric dyeing, hat making, craft works, and molding. I have 12 years of extensive experience in costuming. After graduation, I came to Los Angeles to focus on enriching my film and screen work experience.
